All types of concrete, even self-compacting concrete!

The slump can be from 20 mm. to 200 mm.

Unlike concrete pumps, there is no need to add cement to place concrete with THEAM Concrete Conveyor Belt = save up to 50kgs of cement per m3.

Can I use THEAM Concrete Conveyors for not only concrete but also other materials?

Yes, you can ! you can also place mortar, sand, gravels and small stones from the truck mixer.
     

How long does it take for the driver to unfold the conveyor?

Only a few minutes, depending on the job site and on the surrounding obstacles. The average time to unfold the conveyor, place concrete and fold the conveyor, is about 20 mn.

What is the minimum volume that has to be placed ?

There is no minimum volume required; even 1 m3 can be placed with no concrete loss.

That is why the THEAM Concrete Conveyor Belt is very successful; it really helps RMC companies to increase their profit margin, by charging the conveyor service, and to increase their market share, by providing such an important service to small customers.

What is the maximum volume that can be placed ?

There is no volume restriction; you can even place more than 100 m3 of concrete in one go, or in different job sites the same day.

In practice, for a volume above 40m3, if there is choice between the Concrete Conveyor Belt THEAM and the concrete pump, the last one might be more adapted, especially for large floor slabs or beams.

For how many job sites the conveyor can be used in one day ?

There is no restriction. The conveyor can be used as many times as you wan’t in one day.

The mixer truck can place the concrete 5 or 6 times a day in different places (average frequency) since we need only 7 min to unfold the conveyor, 10 min to place concrete, 10 min to clean the equipment and 5 min to fold the conveyor on mixer truck.

Is the Concrete Conveyor Belt THEAM tropicalized ?

Yes, it is. It works very well under tropics without overheat. A cooling system, running permanently while the PTO is on, keeps the oil under a workable temperature.

The main thing to do to maintain your conveyor well is to clean it carefully after each use. The basic maintenance operations can be done by the driver himself: greasing, oil and roller changes, etc.

All spare parts are already in Asia and can be sent in a few hours or days depending of the location. The repairs can be done by a garage with some hydraulics expertise or by our maintenance technician if necessary.

In case of problems using a conveyor, the driver-operator can directly call THEAM ASIA PACIFIC, or its representatives. They will fix the problem by phone if it is possible.

Do I need to fit THEAM Concrete Conveyor Belts on each truck mixer ?

In RMC business, more than 50% of the fleet can be equipped with a conveyor. But it is only in a very mature country. For example, in Denmark, 90% of the mixer trucks are equipped with a THEAM Concrete Conveyor Belt.

In Asia, a first target can be one per batching plant or 10% of the fleet. It is enough to start providing a great service for small and medium customers, to largely save time and fuel (for trucks) and to make a first ROI.

Can I fit a THEAM Concrete Conveyor Belt on a truck without mixer ?

It is possible but it is not recommended for many reasons. The business model that THEAM will give to RMC companies, when they purchase their first conveyor, will prove that the best solution is to fit the Concrete Conveyor Belt THEAM on a truck mixer. Only a dozen out of 7300 units that have been sold in the world are mounted on a truck without mixer. They are mainly owned by the contractor for their own use.

Can I use the same conveyor to discharge concrete from other trucks ?

We call this technique “tailgating”: the first truck arrives on the job site with his full mixer drum (or empty, if the total volume to be poured is big), the driver folds the conveyor depending on the instructions of the contractor. Then, after having emptied the concrete from the mixer drum, the driver will do the same with the other mixers by using his conveyor.
